10 Easy Steps to Hanging a Mirror

Hanging pictures, mirrors, towels hook, etc has always been a challenging task for me. I'm not sure what it is but the final result never seemed correct. Anyone else have this happen? I found a process that works for me and I hope it works for you too.

Materials:

Dry Wall Anchors

Tools:

Hammer

Drill & drill bits

Level

Painters Tape

Pencil

Mirrors are typically hung 5-10" above your faucet. I took the space I had (47") subtracted the length of my mirror (30") leaving me with 17" ( 8.5" top/bottom).

Follow the 10 easy step to install any mirror or anything really.

1. Collect tools and read the instructions for your mirror. The mirror that I picked used 2 screws on either side.

2. Find the center point of your space and mark it with a pencil and tape. Its easier for me to see the painters tape at a quick glance than searching for the pencil mark.

3. Measure from the top of your mirror down to the hanging bracket. Add that number to the distance from your light down (8.5" + 7.75= 16.25"). From the top of my light, I measured down 16.25" for the 2 screw holes.

4. Take tape from end to end of your mirror and poke a hole where the screw will be on the hanging bracket.

5. Take the piece of tape and place it on the wall. Line up the poked holes at the marks made from step 3 below the light fixture. For my specific space, the holes were 16.25" down from the lights.

6. Once the tape is level on your wall with the poked holes use those spots to predrill for your dry wall anchors.

7. Remove tape and hammer in the drywall anchors.

8. Drill in screws to the anchors.

9. Hang your mirror.

10. Hope it's level!

I truly hope this helps guide you to hanging anything in your home.

XX, Jillian
