How to Install Wall Sconces Without Running Electric

To say the designing my house has been a work in progress would be such an understatement. We have been in this house for 4 years and a lot has happened in those short years. We have added a dog and two kids to the mix which ultimately took our undivided attention so the house and decorating took a back seat. I have been slowly implementing small but impactful ways to add character and charm to the house on a budget.

The 8 photo gallery wall was originally over our couch in our family room. I moved the frames to the hallway where I have noticed and appreciated the photos more in the short time they have been there.

Here is a simple way to make an impact on a budget.

Materials:

Light Fixture of your choosing ( I used these)

Velcro (that can hold more the 5lbs of weight)

The How To:

Start by selecting the wall sconces that you would like to use. I went with these wall sconces that I found on Amazon for under $30.

Next, cut the velcro down to size. One side needs to be placed over the light socket inside the light fixture and the other piece on the back of the light puck. Make sure to use velcro that can hold up to 5 pounds of weight just to be safe.

Secure the light puck to the inside of the light fixture by pressing the two pieces of velcro together. Now, simply turn on the light with the click on your remote!

Installing the wall sconce will be different depending on the hardware of your light though generally the same. Simply decide where you would like the wall sconces to be place and follow the directions for your specific sconces.

XOXO
